Practicing the anchor for a Handtied weft!

Practicing the anchor for a Handtied weft!

using a clear baggie over the bead work giving a clear visual of the needle and thread work.

!! A few things to focus on.

1. Remember your needle work is always on the left and right side of each bead, never does the needle go through a bead.

2. You will start the hand-tied anchor (Lock Stitch) away from the edge bead on bead 2 side one. Then work your way toward the edge.

3. Always pull the thread up each time so the seam of your stitch work lives on top of the weft spine for a clean seam.

4. Once you have secured your edge you will transition to a closed blanket stitch and it will now work away from the edge and across the entire weft to the opposite side. !

5. Again make sure your are stitching one side of the bead then the other, then onto the next bead. You will see a consistent H pattern across your weft. The bead is in the middle the H's.

6. As you approach the second to the last bead now transition back to the lock stick and work toward the finishing edge.

Think of it as how you started but in reverse (like book ends) What you started with is how you will end.
